Jennifer Cerros serves as an Associate Editor for ESPN within the Los Angeles region and is a graduate of California State University, Los Angeles who holds a degree in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Communication and Public Relations.
Prior to serving sports fans around the world, Jennifer worked for the Los Angeles Clippers where she served as a graphic artist, photographer and marketing assistant under their digital media and promotion departments during their 2011-2012 season. Shortly after working the NBA league team, Jennifer transitioned into her current role as an Associate Editor for ESPN Los Angeles, in which she serves as an editor, web programmer, graphic designer, photographer and creative liaison.
Jennifer has been previously employed by NBC Universal, Lionsgate Entertainment, Fox Cable Networks and AEG Worldwide. Always open to new business ventures that spark originality and creativity, Jennifer’s skill-set includes digital marketing, graphic design, photography, creative writing, advertising, social media and web programming.
Co-Founder, Ella Bee Media Group
Lila Brown is the co-owner and founder of Ella Bee Media Group, a marketing, media and management agency headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Ella Bee Media Group specializes in implementing campaigns for a variety of athletes, broadcasters and entertainers.
Lila Brown is a graduate from Georgia State University with a background in Journalism and Public Relations. Lila has worked in broadcast radio as an on-air personality, as a writer for print and digital media outlets and in corporate communications for major fashion companies. Ella Bee Media Group was created in 2009 and has work alongside Fortune 500 companies, ESPN talent, Olympic athletes, and international pop musicians for strategic marketing and public relations campaigns.
Director of the Bruin Varsity Club, UCLA
Courteney Bailey is a member of the National Letterwinners Association of America and the National Association of the Collegiate Directors of Athletics. The Bruin Varsity Club is made up of former UCLA varsity student-athletes and consists of roughly 12,000 active members. Courteney is responsible for engaging these members through various programs and events, while upholding the tradition and legacy of UCLA and to sustain a culture of philanthropy and participation.
Courteney is a UCLA alumna and former member of the UCLA Women’s Soccer team. She founded the Bruin Varsity Club Mentoring & Networking Program, which seeks to help current and former student-athletes with professional development and career networking. Through this program, over 100 current and former student-athletes have been hired in the past two years and over 500 members are active mentors. This program works in close collaboration with the University’s overall mentoring program and with the Director of Bruin Careers to ensure the members of the Bruin Varsity Club are able to utilize all resources available to them at UCLA.
Courteney earned her B.A. in English from UCLA in 2002 and then went on to earn her J.D. from Chapman University School of Law in 2006. Prior to working at UCLA, she worked at the Academy of Art University where she was a part of their first and historical NCAA Athletics Department where she served as the Associate Athletic Director for Business Affairs, the Senior Women’s Administrator and also the Head Women’s Soccer Coach. Courteney is also a current executive committee member of the Jim Mora Count on Me Family Foundation. Courteney grew up in Arcadia, California and currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with her husband and fellow Bruin Varsity Club member, Ryan Bailey. They are expecting their first child in June 2014.
Manager, Executive & Emerging Talent Acquisition, Red Bull North America
Sarah manages Red Bull’s US recruiting efforts across the Executive, Pipeline, Intern and Graduate programs; concurrently, she supports the North American leadership team on strategic talent and organizational development initiatives.
Prior to joining the world of wiiings, Sarah was a Senior Associate with Korn Ferry’s Global Consumer Practice. There she conducted senior executive searches across the consumer goods, retail and hospitality landscapes. Previously, Sarah spent 8 years with Spencer Stuart as a member of the firm’s global Consumer Goods & Services Practice. She specialized in officer-level recruitment for public, private & equity backed clients. During that time, Sarah also supported the firm’s national Sports Practice in numerous professional football, basketball, soccer, golf, motorsports and Olympic movement projects. She began her career with Spencer Stuart as an Analyst assisting with business development efforts and general industry research initiatives.
Sarah earned her undergraduate degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. A Florida native, Sarah is a classically trained dancer who competed and performed extensively throughout the United States. She is addicted to McDonalds coffee, impulse travel, 80’s cover bands and the University of Florida Gators.
Director, IMG Action Sports
Erika Lamiell-Singal is part of the event management team at IMG in Los Angeles where she has ran multimillion dollar event properties. As an event director Erika is responsible for all aspects of event management including conception, strategic partners, sponsorship sales, marketing, advertising, merchandising, permits, site planning, competition, sanctioning, sponsorship fulfillment, on-site activation, hospitality, operations, venue management, and general contractor services. Erika works closely with clients to create, execute and measure successful marketing activations within each event. Her clients have included Diageo, Anheuser-Busch, Paul Mitchell, McDonalds, Samsung, Los Angeles Times, Target, Dodge and others. In addition to event management, Erika is part of the global sales and marketing team for IMG’s international event properties.
Prior to joining IMG, Erika worked for over five years in the investment banking industry where she contributed to multimillion dollar transactions in the sports, entertainment and gaming space as an analyst and then eventually fulfilled a Corporate Vice President role. With exposure to the business side of sports, Erika developed a keen interest in the highly competitive sports industry and decided to make a transition from banking. To further her career, she obtained a Sports MBA at San Diego State. Erika also holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from Virginia Tech. In an effort to give back to the professional community, Erika sits on the board for WISE Los Angeles and is a Co-Director for the WISE Within mentorship program. In her third year, Erika continues to enjoy pairing rising stars with senior executives in hopes of creating lasting and meaningful relationships for both.
Professional Services at Scoutware, Vice President
Amanda Carmichael is part of the senior management team at Scoutware, a tech startup providing web-based communication tools to more than 2,000 college athletic programs around the country. Her primary responsibilities include managing a growing cross-functional team responsible for client services, on-going education, marketing, and professional services. Additionally, she works to expand strategic partnerships, acts as Scoutware’s primary brand ambassador, and regularly presents to industry conferences on topics surrounding communication technology and recruiting.
Prior to her time at Scoutware, Amanda spent four years as the Assistant Golf Coach and Operations Director of the Men’s and Women’s Golf teams at UCLA. During her time at UCLA, her teams captured 3 Pac-10 team titles and a Women’s NCAA Championship in 2004. A Business Administration graduate and athlete from Cal State Northridge, she recently continued her education by completing an executive master’s degree from the Ohio University Sports Administration program in 2014.
Passionate about assisting in the growth and development of others, Amanda has been the Co-Director of the Los Angeles WISE Within mentoring program and on the Los Angeles Board of Directors since 2008. Additionally she has served as the Co-Chair of the National WISE Within Committee since 2013 and worked to launch Speed Mentoring Roundtables across all WISE Chapters. She is excited continue the momentum of serving others and is working to launch www.accelerategreatness.com in 2015.
Account Executive, Los Angeles Clippers
Alexandra Novak is an Account Executive with the Los Angeles Clippers. She is responsible for selling premium seats, full season tickets, partial season tickets, group tickets and single game event suites. Her duties also include administering the daily and monthly revenue for the sales and fan relations team. Alexandra Novak assists in game night activities along with making sure all clients and prospects have an enjoyable experience at the world renowned Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles. Her clientele spans from Top 100 companies, “A” list celebrities and local fans alike. A graduate of San Diego State University, Alex received her Bachelors of Arts in Communications along with a Minor in Psychology. She was a member of the Aztec Rowing Team competing at the NCAA Division 1 level. She holds a Masters in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management and Athletic Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington.
While completing her graduate studies Alex taught Personal Fitness and weight lifting to undergraduate studies in the IU School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER). After completing her graduate studies Alex took a position at UCLA in the Athletic Department working in Recruiting and Special Events. Alex is a very philanthropic individual. Currently on the executive committee for Larger Than Life LA Family, helping children and families with Cancer both in Israel and in Los Angeles. Alex has appeared in a public service message for Mitch Richmond’s (NBA star) “Rock Life Anti Bullying Campaign”. Her past is filled with many endeavors which includes being a Coach and a Delegation Head for the JCC Jewish Community Center Maccabi games which is an international junior Olympics type competition. Prior to becoming the Director of Partnerships and sponsorship for WISE she was on the Mentorship Committee for WISE Within. Alex resides in Beverly Hills and in her free time she enjoys working out, traveling the world, relaxing at the beach and spending time friends and family.
